Character Background Information

Emilia Rose Riddle is the daughter of Tom Marvolo Riddle and Cassiopeia Malfoy, a distant cousin of Lucius. The Riddle with the silver hair matching her mother was born on a cold January morning; people said that night had been the coldest of the year. But, since as it was New Year’s day by five minutes, many people celebrated as of their lives depended on it. However, in the manner which she grew up, Cassiopeia managed to give her husband a legitimate heir, and one an almost carbon copy of herself.

As the child grew her father began to push his cause further and more rapidly than he had in the past. With the wizarding world at a civil war of sorts, Voldemort had become obsessed with power. Which lead to his small downfall on October 31st 1980. With his ‘death’ Bellatrix had became unstable in which she had taken matters in her own hands. Unfortunately, for the Emilia this meant Bellatrix had killed whom she blamed the most for Voldemort’s death, Cassiopeia. With no parents, Emilia was taken in by her mother’s cousin, Lucius, and were raised along side their children and Avisia.

Throughout the years, Emilia became dangerous. The girl surpassed the professors expectations with her magical abilities and often did the unexpected. Along with her exceptional magical abilities Emilia was gifted with her father’s charismatic persona. The girl could almost talk anyone into anything. However, this trait of hers could not hide the fact that she was an arrogant, bossy, and harsh person.

Ꮇeaning of the name:

The name Emilia is traced back to meaning rival. The name sounds elegant, yet happens to literally mean what she is to The Order of the Phoenix. From her first breath on this earth, she was to provide hope and an heir to the deatheater and Grindelwald’s cause. Her birth ultimately completely sealed the alliance and marriage of the causes. The name ‘Rose’ is originated from the Norman form of a Germanic name, which was composed of the elements hord "fame" and heid . Which essentially translates to the meaning that the one possessing the name is meant for big plans and undeniable fame. Being that Emilia is a descendent of gellert grindlewald, Salazar Slytherin, and Lord Voldemort; the middle name Rose seemingly fits perfectly. However, the main reasoning for her mother, Cassiopeia, picking this name was as ordinary as craving your favorite food; she simply loved roses. White roses in particular were the former Malfoy’s favorite flower. The surname Riddle, was obviously gained from her father, however the name reached England after a great wave of migration after the Northman conquest of 1066. Although, she was given her father’s surname, as a child Emilia went by her mother’s maiden name. Lucius had felt that by her being raised by him and her going by Malfoy, he would have the best chance of protecting the Dark Lord’s 𝒸𝓁𝒶𝒾𝓂𝑒𝒹 heir.

Usually when people or I would describe Emilia, the first thoughts they come to my mind are, ruthless, cold, calculated, manipulative, ambitious passionate, and cunning. Although, her traits are fairly average when describing a Slytherin. But, since she is in fact the descendant of Voldemort, Slytherin and Gellert Grindelwald, on her mother’s side, these trait make sense for Emilia due to the environment she had been exposed to from a young age. She had been raised in a pureblood society in which she obviously heard stories regarding her infamous fallen family members. It was her desire to be seen as a powerful leader which started off her cravings for power. Yet, some can argue that her traits were passed down genetically. However, her passion is one of the things that do in fact separate her from her father in some ways. It is her passion for the cause that impresses him, and even so it is her passion for other things such as love, that separates her from him and ultimately displeases him. When Emilia feels passionate about something she holds onto it with her dear life and never let’s go of it. It has been that way since she was a young child. Once she hits the level of passion whatever the feeling is toward she can never see the negative in it. Her passion perhaps is her strongest attributes that help her find herself in the future. It is the force behind all her motives and strongheaded nature. Emilia being one for no nonsense at times and believing she should be worshiped, she is one person that every single person at one point has felt her cold words. Emilia has many irritations within the very large world. The most noticeable irritation the girl has to be either when people either do not know who she is or when people don’t take her word as fact. With her being raised by her father’s most loyal followers along with her extensive family tree; the girl believes that she’s basically royalty and that she knows best. In her mind she is on top of a very relevant monarch, in which she believes that all should listen to her. So when others doubt her or mistake her identity she feels as though they have completely disrespected her. Although, she tends to appear more like her mother although she carries strong demanding traits from her father, she feels as though her beauty should make her more than worthy of everyone knowing her name. Of course, they do not know why she gets so irritated by her alleged surname, but those closest see how annoyed about how the Riddle is about essentially pretending to be someone she is not.

Although, this particular blonde does not become nervous easily nor does she often allow her facade to fade; occasionally Emilia’s masks slope and others are able to see a small aspect of her true emotions. When she is actually nervous that girl will graze her bottom lip with her thumb before chewing on her lip. Also, when the girl is uneasy she will constantly touch her hair and rub the back of her hair; wether she is pulling on her hair, twirling it, or rubbing her hands through it, she’s always touching her hair. However, when she twirls her hair, Emilia is usually lost in deep thought.

Favorite colors:
Gold had always been one of Emilia’s favorite colors. The look of the smooth yet elegant looking shades of yellow always danced in the sun as though it was telling a story. The vibrant color was relaxing yet entertaining all at the same time. Silver were the next color that Emilia adored. She always believed it was underrated. In her opinion the color was just as important as gold, due to the fact it showed a glimpse into what she believed into the soul. The final favorite color is a tad cliche, but Emilia truly does love emerald and forest green. To her she thinks the shade is what secrets would look like. The rich shade hold a mysterious feeling to it that completely appealed to the girl.

Feelings on family:
Family and love is honestly the purest thing she’s ever wanted. Although, her undying desire to be loved by family and to be loyal to her family, has caused her the most pain, Emilia never would fully give to her complicated love for them. At first glance, it’s clear to see the throne Emilia places her father on and one assumes her love for her brother, while her mother is a figure that she simply never mentions. Once you look closer, it all becomes clear to see. In her opinion Cassiopeia, her mother, is rather weak. Emilia truly believes that she is pathetic and quite frankly hates being compared to her. She believes her mother was weak for following a man dictate her great bloodline. When it comes to Alexei, anyone with common sense could see how greatly Emilia adores her big brother, after all she named her first born after him. From a young age she could cling to the older members of the family, and seeing as Alexei tended to her unbending will she favored her other brother as a result. However, no matter how much she adores both brothers that never prevents Emilia from threatening them and even doing something to harm them physically, mentally or emotionally. But, as she grows older, she starts to believe that her family is both a weakness, but also a power. It is her family that she would do everything for. However, it’s her love for Avisia that shows that Emilia is capable of love and unconditional support to those closest to her. Unlike any one else in her life, Avisia is always the one exception. Emilia would ultimately die for or do anything that Avisia asked with no questions asked. The duo had gone through so much together that their bond had become so much more than a bastard sibling-ship. The two commit horrible crimes and betray nearly everyone at least once, the when it comes to each other, nothing could ever cause them to turn against one another. For the majority of their lives the two are inseparable and are rarely apart. With that being said the two generally can read each other like a book or just know what the other was thinking with a look. Also, through out the years, Emilia had started to teach Avisia how to speak in parseltongue, so they could freely communicate while undoubtedly scaring someone in the process. Alexei on the other hand has another unique relationship with the Riddle. The two had been raised together on and off to the point where they have a somewhat decent normal sibling relationship. Although, on occasion Emilia will act hostile towards her older brother, the two have a mutual understanding in their relationships where things between them may be rocky, but they’ll have each other’s backs.

Ꮲast traumas:
Growing up as the daughter of the most memorable and cruel wizard, Emilia’s life was not a walk in a park. Her life has been almost a cycle of constant pain. As a young toddler, the girl had witnessed her mother murdered right before her eyes. But, being that she was so young the trauma had truly affected her as she grew. Occasionally certain shades of green will spark anxiety within the girl but that’s the most relevant side effect. Although, her childhood hadn’t been too terrible once living with the Malfoys, her life wasn’t necessary easy. Being a symbol of chaos and pain for many wizards, Emilia was seen as a target in which she provided strength/hope to her family’s cause. However, her past traumas she faced subsided ever so slightly as she began her journey at Hogwarts, due to the fact that Lucius had forced her to go by Malfoy during the early years of her schooling. At one point she and Avisia were taken by unknown people at the age of five. The strangers separated the two and locked Emilia within a dark room, since then being locked in rooms or feeling trapped always makes her beyond anxious. One of her final and most heavy trauma had not occurred until after the war, when someone had kidnapped her first born. Of course, this crime had set the female on the ultimate war path covered in destruction and blood.

Ꮇost favorable memory:
Although, the girl is very secluded and secretive, Emilia is full of small surprises and small spurts of happiness. Her most favorable memory unsurprisingly is side by side with Avisia Lestrange. It happened to be one if the more simple points in their lives, yet it was one of the memories she clings to over the years. The duo was only five and seven at the time, and yet they laid inside their fort of blankets fantasizing over their futures. Of course, the two wanted to be the world’s best witches, but they planned the most domestic side of their future. The two giggling girls spoke of how they’d live with one another, because ‘they were destined to always be apart of the other’ much like two halves of a whole. But, as they spoke in hushed tones promising to give each other unconditional and pure love, the two were in the small sanctuary was filled of promises of happiness and belonging.

Flaws:
Flaws are limitless, yet some flaws can lead to fatal situations and unbearable pain. After all, the pain we inflict upon ourselves are the deepest pain that we can feel. Our minds can become a prison that we can not escape. For Emilia, her one main fatal flaw is her own arrogance. The infamous blonde’s own arrogance seemingly is the constant source of pain. Emilia places herself on such a high pedestal simply because of her rich linage and bloodline. Yet, her feeling of being invincible ultimately break her to small pieces. It’s her own need for perfection and to be the highest being one can be that provides a strong breaking point within the girl. Her ambition pushes her forward while the setbacks and failures drag her into the darkness with all the pressure of her father.

Ꭰesires:
Although, desires are often times hidden away deep within, Emilia’s main desires reflect everything she ever wanted to become. Over the years, she had heard the rumors of her father living within the shadows, and being “orphaned” Emilia wanted nothing more than to meet her legendary father. Yet, no matter what she did attempting to gain his attention from wherever he was, the dark lord never appeared to her. Therefore, her daddy issues slowly began to take root. The years of Hogwarts had not made it any easier for the young girl, since her father only ever seemed to reveal himself to Harry Potter. In which, she had only assumed to gain Voldemort’s attention she had to be the absolute best. But, during the last few months of the war, Emilia’s desires grew more so. Her father’s quest and battle seemed to be looking up, yet with him still obsessing over the boy who lived, the blonde knew that this tale wouldn’t end the way of expected. Being pregnant with her own child, Emilia wanted to outshine her own father with a vengeance brewing deep within. She wanted to put her father in her shadow, if he couldn’t be the best nor could he love her, then she simply would have to outshine him.

Ꮇeanings behind bogarts:
Before her fourth year, Emilia’s bogart had always been a cold unconscious dead Avisia. While growing up, Avisia was the one constant that Emilia had always experience. Even though, the Lestrange girl is two years older, the duo had been raised as sisters. Their bond from birth had an uncanny closeness to it. From a young age the two could simply communicate with a series of looks and breathing patterns. In short, losing Avisia, would be best described as Emilia losing apart of herself. It was after the war that Emilia’s bogart had completely changed, like every mother, Emilia feared one thing; something happening to Alexios Jace. Her first born child became her whole world, and the thought of something happened to him would shake her to the core.

Ꮇost favorable memory:
Being one associated with such darkness and displeasing past traumas, favorable memories happen to be hard to come by. From a young age, Emilia was taught to believe in the blood superiority, and with her family lineage, the girl was a target grouping up. Whether, she wanted to be or not, she was an icon and symbol for the dark causes in the wizarding world, after all being directly related to two incredibly dark wizards, it was bound to happen. But, even with being so entangled within the dark, the light moments did occur and become a rare delicacy. It was a warm pleasant spring day, and being that she was only five at the time, the whiskey colored brunettehad no responsibilities. She didn’t have to go to school, nor did she bare the weight of her family name just yet. Instead, the blonde spent her days convincing Avisia to go play and have a tea party under the large oak tree next to the pond.

Ꭺmortentia:
Smoke and the scent of books is the first scent that burns through her nostrils. The smoke smells almost similar to the fires held at Hogwarts during the winter to keep everyone warm. The books smell exactly like the ones hidden in the forbidden section of the library.

Vanilla sugar cookies would be the next scent, and compared to the previous scent, this one would be so much more delicate. It was a small warming scent that caused the feeling of being wrapped up in a large pair of warms next to the fire, with an overflowing plate of delicious sugar cookies.

Cinnamon being the last scent of the amortentia, it’s one that comes on slowly, but almost starts to pack a burning punch. Although, the spice could represent anything, for Emilia, this smell radiated the scent of firewhiskey.

Ever since she had be introduced to the throat burning alcoholic drink, the platinum blonde, always swore how it always smelt like the soothing familiar feeling of cinnamon, yet with one drink the alcohol would start to mimic a burning sensation in ones throat.
